| Steven P. Knox |
Maybe I am just a bit too skeptical. However, choosing a babysitter from Craigslist (especially a male) raises certain questions in my mind.
One woman was lured in by the Craigslist ad, posted by Steven P. Knox, offering his babysitting services. Knox now stands charged of aggravated sexual assault of a 6-year-old girl.
According to police, the Webster resident assaulted the little girl on June 23.
The girl's mother told an officer she hired Knox based on his advertisement on the website Craigslist. Knox cared for her three children over a period of a few months, according to a probable cause document.
The girl was taken to Texas Children's Hospital on June 24 to be examined and doctors determined she suffered a vaginal tear.
Knox, 32, was released after posting a $30,000 bond on the felony charge.
ABC 13, KTRK-TV in Houston approached Knox at his home and the interview is quite disturbing. Knox, holding an open bible, appears to nod his head when asked if he has a problem and needs help. He then says:
"All I know is that God says I would be vindicated, and that I would come out on the clear on this."
Knox went on to tell Eyewitness News that God speaks to him. After the interview, the reporters started walking to their truck. Knox came back out and walked up to one reporter demanding they hand over their camera disk to him. The reporters did not comply with his request.
We have since called the DA's Office and told them about the interview. They told us they would be taping this report to use in court. Watch the interview below:
