Kyle Dube Indicted for Murder After Luring 15-Year-Old Maine Teen Nicole Cable Using Facebook

15-year-old Nicole Cable

Bangor, Maine

I have always said, Maine is really Deliverence, only with beaches rather than a river. Especially Orono, talk about some goofy fuckers.

Earlier this month, a 15-year-old girl named Nicole Cable went missing in Maine. The girl’s mother contacted police, indicating she had left the night before to meet a friend at the end of the driveway but hadn't returned.

Police launched an investigation and, along with the help of volunteers, began a search for Nicole. During the investigation, police learned Cable had been communicating with someone by the name of Bryan Butterfield through Facebook.

In a strange twist, that particular Bryan Butterfield was actually a fake profile. The real Bryan Butterfield stepped-up and told investigators that another man named Kyle Dube had created the account. According to Butterfield, Dube wanted to have sex with Nicole Cable and did not appreciate his advances being turned down by the girl. So, Dube planned on luring Cable away from her house, kidnap her, hide her and then find her – in an attempt to look like a hero.

The eventual discovery of Cable’s body in a wooded area on May 20, however, proved the original plan didn’t turn out as expected. When police finally interviewed Kyle Dube, he admitted to luring her away from her home, putting on a ski mask and waiting. When Nichole came along, the 20-year-old Dube jumped out and snatched her, duct-taped her and put her in the back of his father's pickup truck. Dube later discovered that she was dead, so he dumped her body and covered it with branches, according to court documents.

The cause of Nicole Cable’s death is still being determined by the medical examiner's office.
