Dad, husband Gregg Belcheff Arrested on Child Porn Charges: Carried Thumb Drive Everywhere

Gregg Belcheff
Houston, Texas

I have always been skeptical of chemical engineers ever since meeting a girl who lived with one. You see, according to her, he enjoyed being tied-up and having ice cubes shoved up his butt and being whipped. Anyway, different guy, different company.

A chemical engineer with one of the largest oil and gas companies, who has been married for more than three decades with two children, has been accused of being a pedophile by Houston Police. Authorities say Gregg Belcheff downloaded hundreds of pictures containing child pornography. If that is not disturbing enough, authorities say he carried a thumb drive containing child porn with him at all times so that he could access the images wherever he was.

Investigators with the Houston Metro Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force said they tracked him down through his computer's IP address. They said Belcheff would even carry around a thumb drive with child porn on it so he could access the images wherever he was.

Police say Belcheff admitted to having an obsession with underage children.

"He's an extremely sick person," Investigator JD Philpot said. "Primarily we're talking about children as young as 4, all the way to about 12 years of age."

According to documents from investigators, Belcheff is accused of collecting and trading sexually explicit images of young children. Detectives said he downloaded and shared more than 400 videos and pictures through his computer at home.

Neighbors of Belcheff are rightfully concerned, because they said the neighborhood is full of children around the same age as the boys and girls found on Belcheff’s computer.

Belcheff bonded out of jail after being booked on Wednesday. He is charged with three counts of possession of child pornography. If convicted, he faces up to 10 years in prison.

Investigators are asking that anyone with further information or knowledge of victims contact Houston Police.
