39-year-old Adam Howard South will be spending Memorial Day behind bars after police say he repeatedly raped a 5-year-old girl.
South made his first court appearance Friday after being taken into custody on Thursday.
He faces eight counts of rape and two counts of sexual contact with a child under 16. Investigators are saying the rape happened between August 11, 2011 and May 24, 2012. The victim in this case is only 5-years-old.
South lives in a residential area with a lot of kids nearby.
South will be back in court in two weeks. His bond is set at $500,000. If convicted he could face up to life in prison.
On his Facebook page, he says:
A good friend will bail you out of jail but a true friend
will be next to you in jail.
If you wanna know you gotta ask.
No thanks dude, we no longer have to ask. Of course, I am sure he will have a friend (Bubba) next to him in jail.
