Johnetta Mack’s Tampon Torpedo Lands Her in Minnesota Jail

Makato, Minnesota

It must be a tough period in Johnetta Cheryel Mack’s life (cough). The 21-year-old woman from Minnesota was arrested for intoxication and disruptive behavior at the Oleander Saloon.

When officers arrived, Mack had already been handcuffed by a private security guard.

That was only the beginning of her troubles, however. She picked up an additional charge after allegedly throwing a used tampon at the officers after being ordered to a strip search.

The guard told officers that he took Mack into custody after she attacked another woman at the bar and refused to leave the establishment. While in custody, Mack resisted and kicked the security officer in the shin.

Mack’s next stop was the Blue Earth County Jail, where the strip search was to take place. This is when she allegedly removed a used tampon from her vagina and hurled it at officers.

When Mack saw that she had missed the officer she intended to hit, she kicked the tampon in another officer's direction. Officers classified the act as felony assault, since she flung bodily fluids towards the officers in the process.

In the end, Mack was charged with fourth-degree assault for kicking the security guard and two counts of fifth-degree assault for the flying tampon. In 2010, Mack was charged with assaulting a Makato police officer. She later pleaded guilty to obstructing the legal process.
