Naples, Florida

It was just a typical day around a Naples high school field. No sports going on or anything. Well, let me re-phrase that. There were no scheduled sporting events. However, police say one woman picked-up a baseball bat and went all bat shit crazy.

Marquita Kihnley is the woman in question. It was a call that alerted police to Lely High School in search of the bat wielding woman. By the time they arrived, deputies noticed a brown Ford Explorer speeding from the school parking lot. Witnesses identified the driver as the one swinging the bat at people earlier.

Police caught up with the Explorer and identified the driver as Marquita Kihnley.

Kihnley admitted that she had a baseball bat in her vehicle for personal protection and had taken it out that evening.

Several witnesses said that Kihnley got upset and began swinging the metal bat at people, including her 9-year-old son. It was further reported that Kihnley was chasing her son around a field with the baseball bat and even struck one person with the bat.

Kihnley was arrested and charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, child abuse without great harm and battery.
