Lisa Camille Land

Sealy, Texas

Police in Sealy are searching for a suspect in connection with the death of a woman at a local motel.

Lisa Camille Land, 30, was found dead inside room 16 at the Best Budget Inn on N. Circle Drive around 5 p.m. Friday. The manager, Lawrence Garbs, said that he arrived at her room to collect rent and saw a man quickly pull back the blinds. No one answered the door, so he left.

When he returned a few minutes later, the door was cracked and he saw the victim inside in a pool of blood. Investigators say the woman appears to have been beaten.

The woman was a waitress at the Hinze’s barbecue, described by co-workers as a mother of five just trying to get back on her feet.

Owners of a nearby gas station have handed surveillance video over to authorities.
