Well, it looks like another beauty queen is in trouble and having to give back her crown.
This time around, it is Kendra McKenzie Gill, an 18-year-old Utah beauty pageant winner charged with tossing homemade "bottle bombs" from a vehicle.
She didn’t act alone, however. Three other douchebags helped her, including John Patrick Reagh, Shanna Marie Smith and Bryce Christopher Stone, all 18. All four were charged Friday with four felony counts of possession of an explosive device.
The explosive devices were actually plastic bottles filled with toilet bowl cleaner and shrapnel, thrown from a moving vehicle at people and property, while taking a joyride around town.
Gill said she wanted to turn over her Miss Riverton title crown before pageant officials snatched it away from her.
She calls the August 2 incident a “stupid mistake.”
Back in June, before Gill decided to dabble in explosives, she beat-out nine other beauties in the Salt Lake City suburb of Riverton, showing off years of piano training with a Scott Joplin number and taking home a $2,000 scholarship.
Contestants in the pageant – which is a preliminary of the Miss Utah and Miss America competitions – are required to sign a contract certifying they have not been convicted of a crime and don't have criminal charges pending against them. Pageant officials can revoke a title if a contestant is criminally charged during her reign.
Gill does have a lawyer, Wally Bugden, who says the four teens are are honor students who were playing a prank and didn't intend harm. He says that Gill is getting a harder time because of her title.
Gill isn’t the first teen beauty to fall into the spotlight. Back in February, it was Miss Delaware Teen Melissa King’s turn, after a sex video turned up – and who can forget that?
