There are very few details to go on, at the moment, but in keeping with the funeral director theme of the week: I proudly present Byron Griffy of Fowler, Colorado. At first glance, he looks like just a 75-year-old grandpa. According to police, however,this grandpa is a sexual predator of children.
Police took Griffy into custody and have charged him with sexual assault on a child by one in a position of trust.
Investigators say the alleged abuse occurred over the course of the last two years. Griffy’s bond was set at $10,000.
I found another story on this guy. Apparently, he led a town parade and was featured in the town newspaper. A little reading between the lines reveals his "fondness" for children (ahem, cough, throat-clearing). The article notes:
He was a host parent to several exchange students, whom he remembers by name, still corresponds with today and hopes to someday have the opportunity to visit in their countries.
In earlier years he would give young children pairs of birds with hopes that they would develop an interest in them as well. Today, some of those “children” bring their children and grandchildren to his farm to get birds for themselves.
