Florida City Worker James Vice Had a Vice for 8-Year-Old Girl

I have never trusted anyone with the last name of vice. And as of today, nothing can change my mind.

Police in Gulfport have arrested 66-year-old James Vice, a city parks maintenance employee, who happens to be facing one count of capital sexual battery on a child under the age of 12. Actually, in this case, the victim is only 8-years-old.

Police say Vice had more than 60 sexual encounters with an 8-year-old girl, all occurring in a one-year-period, back in 2003. The victim, now 16, told a school counselor about the incident.

Investigators say they arranged and recorded phone calls where Vice made "incriminating statements to substantiate the victim's allegations."

While Vice is currently facing the one count, authorities say there may be more charges coming, based on the number of times Vice engaged in sexual activity with the girl.

City Manager Jim O'Reilly has suspended Vice without pay.

Police say they have no evidence to indicate Vice had other victims.
