Mississippi Teacher Jennifer McCullum Admits to Sexing-Up 17-Year-Old Student

Back in May of 2010, a teacher at Petal High School in Petal, Mississippi was indicted following an sexual-related investigation. Police arrested 38-year-old Jennifer McCullum for sexually assaulting a 17-year-old student.

According to her indictment, the intercourse occurred between November 1, 2009, and January, 13, 2010.

Once the investigation was underway, McCullum was fired from her teaching job and lost her teaching certification from the Mississippi Department of Education as well.

This week, Jennifer McCullum pleaded guilty to one count of sexual battery for having sexual intercourse with a minor while in a position of authority.

The mother has been sentenced to five years of probation on top of five days in jail she already served last year.

McCullum also was ordered to pay a $2,500 fine and a $100 assessment to the Mississippi Crime Victims Compensation Fund.
