Investigators said 27-year-old Kyle Wischnewsky arranged for the ATVs to be bought for $7,000 each. He rode with his older brother to Bryan, Texas to help him haul the ATVs after purchase.
Investigators said during the trip, Clifford Wischnewsky texted a lady he was to have dinner with that night saying he was minutes away from Bryan, but something did not feel right.
Wischnewsky reportedly drove to Brazos County in a white Ford pickup with a trailer. The trailer, the truck and the younger brother were missing from the crime scene.
Investigators issued an emergency ping order for the missing brother’s phone as a concern for his health and well-being. They discovered his last active cell site was in Carlsbad, New Mexico and contacted the local police.
The Carlsbad Police Department located the vehicle at a motel parking lot. They also confirmed that Kyle Wischnewsky was registered at the Executive Inn and was accompanied by a woman.
SWAT officers surrounded the room and took the brother into custody.
Kyle Wischnewsky was charged with murder and his bond was set at $1,000,000.
The men’s mother revealed Kyle Wischnewsky, who lived with her, was in trouble with the law in Texas and Oklahoma and said he was not going back to jail. She said he actually took two guns from her house when his brother picked him up for their trip.
Kyle Wischnewsky’s girlfriend, Sheila Kennedy, also lived with the mother. The mother said the girlfriend packed up her clothing, Kyle’s clothing and a dog and left the home Thursday night. Kennedy was later identified as the woman with Kyle Wischnewsky when he was apprehended.

Cliff was a very dear friend of mine. This is absolutely horrible. Cliff would give the shirt off his back to a stranger. He, in fact, was trying to help his brother get his life on track. Cliff would have loaned the money to his brother, the killing was senseless. The two brothers are polar opposites but that didn't matter to Cliff. He was just trying to help his little brother, and this is how he was repayed. RIP Cliff.
