Chief Mike Chitwood: "I knew I could take the fucker"

You know, I suspect that cops have learned that spring break can be a bitch sometimes, especially if you are the head honcho cop in, of all places, Daytona Beach. But this story just gets under my nail bed.

Picture this: It’s spring break and a nice, sunny day in Daytona Beach. You are Police Chief Mike Chitwood, just minding your own damn business while observing Bike Week. That’s when some douchebag named Michael Dangelo approaches and wants to start talking all crazy about his rights. He says he can arrest YOU and even says he can kill YOU, the chief. Sounds crazy, right?

So, what do you do? Well, if you are the ‘big wig’ of the force in a town known for crazy spring break vacations, you try and keep you cool and turn away. That is exactly what Chief Chitwood did. But, this crazy douchebag spits on the good chief’s back. The chief turns around to arrest Dangelo who decides to put up a fight.

I am guessing that Chitwood was winning in the struggle, because the 43-year-old Dangelo did what any losing douche bag would do and took a bite of the chief’s finger.

Daytona Beach police Chief Mike Chitwood had to make a trip to the hospital after a suspect resisted arrest and bit him. Chief Mike Chitwood prevailed, however, bringing the attacker to the ground – and even managed to ‘accidentally’ bang Angelo’s head on a motorcycle on the way down. That was a good one, chief!

Police said Chitwood was taken to Halifax Medical Center for the bite, and was treated and later released.

Dangelo was booked into the Volusia County Jail for assault on a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.

By the way, Chief, might I suggest rabies examination?
