I used to love show and tell days at school. We used to see pet turtles, completed puzzles, Indian costumes and rock collections of those a little slower than the rest of us. Of course, things were very different way the hell back when.
According to police in Connecticut, things are really different these days. They learned this after visiting a kindergarten school in Bridgeport, where one 5-year-old student brought his dad’s jacket containing dozens of bags of heroin.
Bridgeport Superintendent Paul Vallas said he believes the boy took his stepfather’s jacket to school on Monday without knowing the drugs were inside it.
"Children bring to school what they find at home," he said.
According to authorities, when the 5-year-old’s turn at show and tell came around, armed with daddy’s jacket, he pulled out 50 packets of heroin.
You know it had to have been a strange moment when the boy’s step-father realized where his jacket wound-up. As you might have guessed, he tried to make a mad-dash to the school to retrieve it. And police were there to help him with the dilemma. 35-year-old Santos Roman was taken into custody and charged with risk of injury to a minor and drug charges. He appeared Tuesday in Bridgeport Superior Court and was ordered held on $100,000 bail.
The Department of Children and Families placed the boy in the custody of his grandmother.
