Douchebag of the Week: Florida CPA, Church Elder and Child Predator David Ullman

It has been a slow news week, except for the news of the death of James Gandolfini (Tony Soprano), so I mulled over the stories to find one person worthy of being named our person of the week. I think I found him.

First, one cannot overlook his service to the local church, serving as an elder. Also, he was involved with the local business community and civic activities. He had a top-notch career too, as one of the managing partners of Bunting-Tripp-Ingley-LLP Certified Public Accountants. Hell, some say he even made contributions to area children. And maybe that is the one trait that stands out the most, because in his latest adventure, he gained the most fame for trying to “make a contribution” to a child.

David C. Ullman, the Lake Wales man who was arrested on charges including soliciting sex from a minor, posted bond Tuesday afternoon, according to the Polk County Jail.

Ullman was one of more than 40 folks busted in the child sex sting operation.

Ullman's bond was set at $52,000 and for now, he has been banned from any contact with children or use of a computer. That means no sensual massage training classes, or further offers to provide oral sex to underage girls.

Right now, Ullman’s facing a laundry list of charges, including attempted lewd battery, unlawful use of a two-way communication device, seducing or enticing to commit a sexual act, and traveling to meet a minor, according to the Polk County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies arrested Ullman on just before Father’s Day after he contacted an undercover detective who was posing as a 14-year-old girl. He said he wanted to teach the child about sensual massage and perform oral sex on her, the Sheriff's Office said. He told the undercover detective he was a 49-year-old man.

Ullman formerly served on the Lake Wales Charter School Board of Trustees and is still on the charter system's foundation board, along with the Polk Education Foundation board of directors.

Florida Sheriff Grady Judd Rounds Up More Child Predators with Sex Sting Operation

Our favorite sheriff, Grady Judd, of Polk County, Florida has done it again. Yes, another summer fun sex sting extravaganza just took place in the sunshine state. As always, an interesting mix of perverts found the perfect way to fuck-up their lives.

In the latest round:

There is David Ullman, of Lake Wales. Ullman is a husband, a father, a church elder, a CPA and now, a proven douchebag.

This one actually surprises me the most – then again, I suppose it shouldn’t. At any rate, I am sure it surprises his large family, as well as his fellow employees at Bunting-Tripp-Ingley-LLP Certified Public Accountants (he is an owner). He thought he was going to demonstrate his oral skills on an underage girl.

Jeremy Puetz of Haines City made the list, busted after arriving to perform oral sex on an underage boy. Yes, an underage boy.

There was also a Gumby impersonator named Matt Levesque. He was looking to get all “bendy” with an underage girl.

In all, 40 males and one female suspects face a total of 180 charges, ranging from: attempted lewd battery, lewd and lascivious battery, unlawful use of a two-way communication device, seduce/solicit/entice to commit in sexual act, traveling to meet minor, drug possession, possession of drug paraphernalia, traveling to meet/use computer to solicit guardian, transmission of harmful material to minor, to procuring minor for prostitution, and resisting arrest without violence.

"Despite the fact our detectives have conducted nine of these operations since 2006; despite the extensive media coverage when we talk about the numerous arrests; despite the fact we make no secret about putting suspects in jail – there are those who continue to travel to Polk County to have sex with a child," said Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd in a prepared statement. "Make no mistake; we will continue to make protecting our children our number one priority. We will continue to conduct these investigations, and we will continue to arrest those who would travel to Polk County to harm children.”
