Texas Cowboy Tad Costin Turns Out to Be Texas Child Sexual Predator

It’s being called one of the worst cases of child sex abuse that prosecutors have seen in a long time. It involves a 42-year-old man named Tad Costin. He is facing four charges of aggravated sexual assault of a child.

Police say that it was the parents of Costin’s girlfriend that discovered SD cards in a box belonging to Costin on October 20. The girlfriend’s mother inserted one of the cards into a laptop and was shocked by disturbing images of Costin sexually assaulting young girls. The cards were then turned over to police.

In all, authorities say they have found hundreds of photographs of Costin sexually abusing young girls, believed to be between the ages of four and 7. Some of the photographs are believed to date back to the 1990’s, while others are as recent as 2011. As of this writing, authorities believe there to be around 15 victims.

Harris County Assistant District Attorney Kathryn Kahle told media that some of the young girls shown with Tad Jeremy Costin appeared to be drugged.

Investigators are working to identify the victims and say that they believe there are many other victims. Police are asking for the public’s help, as well as any other victims who may have spent time at Costin’s former residence in Clear Lake.

Police: Texas Pastor Romulo Jimenez Repeatedly Sexually Assaulted an 8-Year-Old Girl on Church Property

A Houston pastor is in deep doo doo today, after police say he sexually assaulted an 8-year-old female parishioner multiple times on church property.

The “man of God,” Romulo Jimenez, is charged with continuous sexual abuse of a child. He is the pastor at Centro Christiano Vida Nueva in Houston, Texas. The church is located at 8811 Synott.

According to authorities, the little girl said that on one Friday evening in 2012, Jimenez asked her to accompany him to his church office. She claims Jimenez then sexually assaulted her.

In another incident, police say Jimenez took the girl to his parked car in the parking lot of the church and sexually assaulted her.

Then on February 8, 2013, a witness told police she saw Jimenez coming out of his church bathroom late at night, then the witness found the girl in the restroom with her pants and underwear down. Court documents state the witness confronted Jimenez who told the witness that he was helping her go to the restroom. He then left.

The witness said she told the girl's parents and then contacted Child Protective Services.

The girl's mother kept asking her about the incident in the bathroom until she eventually disclosed that Jimenez had touched her.

The little girl’s parents confronted Jimenez who admitted he made a mistake, but would not discuss details. That’s when the parents contacted police.

Investigators say Jimenez's wife said her husband did not deny it and confessed to the girl's parent's his guild and mistake about the poor decision he had made, and that he had repented for his mistake. His wife told police there were two other incidents in the church kitchen.

Texas Insurance Salesman Damon Dove Can’t Seem to Insure Himself Against Sexual Assault Bonds

It looks like a strong week for predators down in the lone star state.

Within spittin’ distance of Houston, an insurance salesman already out on bond on two previous sexual assault charges has been arrested following another assault. Like a good neighbor, right? Oh wait, wrong insurance company.

Fort Bend County sheriff's deputies have charged 39-year-old Damon Dove with sexual assault in connection with a case on June 12.

According to detectives, a 25-year-old woman ran to a home in a sparsely-populated area between First Colony and the Brazos River after she was attacked.

The victim met Dove earlier in the day and he asked her out for drinks, investigators said. After the two met, police say Dove drove the woman to an undisclosed location and sexually assaulted her.

Deputies said the woman managed to get out of the car and ran for help.

Here’s the kicker, Dove was already out on bond for two separate sexual assault cases in Harris County and Sugar Land at the time of his arrest.

Records show that Dove has been a suspect in several other cases in Harris and Fort Bend counties but was never prosecuted. Investigators said those cases were similar to the June 12 case.

Tonight, women in the area may be a little safer. Dove is being held in the Fort Bend County Jail with bond set at $400,000.

Maryland MILF Karen Carstens Accused of Sexually Assaulting Young Boy While His Mom Was In Texas Hospital

While living in Texas in 2009, Karen Lee Carstens volunteered to help a friend by watching her son while the woman was in the hospital. According to police, this caretaker took caring to a new, disturbing level. Carstens, now 41 and living in Riva, Maryland has been charged with sexual assault of a child by authorities in Houston.

According to court documents, Carstens was a friend of the victim's mother when she lived in the Houston area back when the alleged incidents occurred. The victim told police that Carstens began sexually assaulting him beginning at age 13 until he was 15.

Court documents state that Carstens first sexually assaulted the boy in the year 2007, two years before the hospital babysitting incident. The boy says two years later, while his mother was in and out of the hospital, he and Carstens had multiple sexual encounters.

Police say the victim said Carstens told him not to tell anyone about their sexual relationship because she could get into trouble. He said the relationship ended when Carstens moved out of state in 2009.

Police reports indicate that during the two-year-long sexual relationship, the boy was worried about birth control. Court documents give explicit examples, such as the following:

At one point the boy said he had intercourse with her and, although he ejaculated on her stomach, "he cried believing he had impregnated [Carstens] but [Carstens] assured him not to worry because her menstrual cycle was due soon."

At another point, the boy thought of another way to avoid pregnancy: anal sex.

The two were upstairs in his bedroom when he was 15 while his mother was again in the hospital.

The boy "stated that he asked [Carstens] if he 'could have sex up the ass because he didn't have a condom,'" the court documents say. "Complainant stated [Carstens] refused at first citing that it would cause her pain but agreed to the request. [The boy] stated that he inserted his penis inside [her] rectum and that he 'ejaculated' inside the anus."

The boy told investigators that when the relationship began, while he was 13, it involved just touching her breasts and genitals, but soon, he said in the court documents, the defendant "sucked his dick" at least four times, including once in the family's living room.

A warrant has been issued for her arrest, but Carstens is not in custody at the moment.

Texas Youth Minister Gary Welch Arrested for Sexually Molesting Young Girl

A popular youth minister in Corsicana was arrested on Monday for aggravated sexual assault of a child. Gary Welch, 42, is the youth minister at Northside Baptist Church.

Court documents say a 16-year-old girl came forward to police on Saturday after she confided to her aunt she had been sexually assaulted by Welch for more than two years - since she was 13 years old. Investigators say the abuse "happened numerous times at several different locations" and that the two last had intercourse on New Year’s Eve.

Police would not clarify if the girl was a member of the church, but said they are investigating whether there could be more alleged victims.

There have been concerns raised before about Gary Welch. One father says he had his suspicions about Welch three years ago, when he realized the youth minister was showing interest in his teenage stepdaughter.

"This guy was texting our daughter at all hours of the day and night," he said. "He was going to school, eating with her at lunchtime... Seems like it exceeded the scope of a youth minister."

The father pulled his stepdaughter out of the church and complained to the pastor, Rick Lamb.

"It kind of fell on deaf ears," he said. "He kind of blew our concerns off and said that [Welch] was a very kind and loving man.”

There were even questionable postings on Welch's Facebook page, which has been removed. Like, for instance:

"The other day I met a young girl who doesn’t believe in the concept of long term relationships because it has never been modeled for her. In her life, when relationships got difficult, people left."

"As I navigate through different websites, I am often saddened as I see people begging for attention. Young girls indirectly asking for someone to tell them they are attractive or guys promoting an image of so-called masculinity as they try to impress the people looking on."

The married youth minister, who is also a father, is being held on a $150,000 bond.

Northside Baptist Church has posted the following statement on their website:

"We are shocked and deeply saddened to learn of the arrest of our youth minister, Gary Welch. We first became aware of this matter around 4:30 p.m. on Monday, March 19, 2012. At this time we do not know the precise charges against him. We will be cooperating fully with law enforcement authorities as they investigate this matter."

The Psalmist wrote, "God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in times of trouble." We are asking God to help everyone involved with this matter during this time. We ask the public to pray for Gary's family, the alleged victim and her family, for our church, and, until more is known, we also request our privacy be respected.

Funeral Director Arrested for Sexually Abusing Women

A well-respected member of a Madison County community is facing charges of sexual abuse. New York State police have arrested Brian Tait, 46, of Cazenovia, for allegedly subjecting a former employee at Tait Funeral Home to inappropriate physical exams. And troopers say there are other potential victims.

It was at the Tait Funeral Home on Fenner Road in the Town of Cazenovia that New York State Police now say Tait forcibly touched and sexually abused a woman. "It involved an employee disrobing and some potential sexual contact as part of an employment interview to see how this employee reacted with certain chemicals involved in the embalming process," said Captain Mark Lincoln.

According to troopers, the 24-year-old victim says the exam was conducted last month. And she and others may not have initially thought it was inappropriate because of unfamiliarity with the mortuary business and other factors. Troopers say Brian Tait was well-known and respected in Cazenovia and trusted by his employees and their families. And they say he betrayed that trust.

"When somebody in a position of trust suggests that this particular examination needed to be done for this type of employment, the people were not really in a position to second guess," Lincoln said.

Since Tait was arrested and charged Wednesday, troopers say other potential victims have come forward. And they say there may be others out there.
