Police arrested Alexandra Elizabeth McLean, a drama teacher at Englewood High School, after she allegedly had sexual contact with a student following a school play.
According to authorities, an investigation was launched mid-November after a 29-year-old woman called police and reported that a 17-year-old boy had bragged about having a sexual relationship with 27-year-old McLean.
Detectives say their investigation revealed that McLean had sexual contact with the student in November following a play she directed. The student, however, told police that the relationship was consensual and that he pursued the relationship by kissing her first.
McLean, who happens to be engaged, was hired by the school in August to replace long-time theater teacher, Bill Ambron. She was reportedly placed on leave in November before ultimately resigning her position in December.
McLean was booked into the Arapahoe County Jail and charged with two felony counts of sexual assault by a person in a position of trust. She was released after posting a $25,000 bond.
