At first glance, you may be thinking the same thing I did. “This guy doesn’t look computer-literate.” However, according to police, Joseph Diflumera is well-versed in computer technology. In fact, police found out just how computer savvy this 54-year-old man was when they served a search warrant on his home.
Multiple computers, videotapes, hard drives and computer disks were seized during the search, and a preliminary forensic exam revealed that they contained many images of child pornography.
Authorities had been keeping a close eye on Diflumera, after receiving information that he had been downloading child porn from the Internet.
Diflumera, who was home at the time of the search, was arrested on one count of possession of sexual performance by a child and booked into the Volusia County Branch Jail in Daytona Beach on $2,500 bond. The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are pending.
The investigation was conducted by the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office’s Sex Crimes Unit and Internet Crimes Against Children Unit in conjunction with the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Brevard-Volusia Child Exploitation Task Force.
