Texan Joseph Payne Likes Online Dating Sites, Child Porn and Possibly Murder Police Say

Houston, Texas

On February 22, Houston police arrested 31-year old auto mechanic Joseph Michael Payne on three charges of possession of child pornography and two charges of aggravated sexual assault of children under the age of 14.

Authorities confirm they recovered child pornography on Payne's computer. Investigators also contend Payne showed two young children that pornography and forced them to re-enact the depicted scenes.

Tonight, however, investigators are looking even closer to Payne’s activities over the past few years, as they say there could be a link between the current jail inmate and several unsolved murders. Payne has a huge online presence, using jpayne9207, including a high number of online dating profiles that police are interested in. Payne allegedly revealed some information online that could tie him to the June 2009 murder of Trang Van in northwest Harris County.

The 18-year-old girl had been shot dead and stuffed inside a closet at her parents northwest Harris County home. Nobody has been arrested and charged with Van's murder.

Payne's boss at an auto mechanic business less than two miles away confirmed that investigators have been asking questions regarding Payne's whereabouts while various homicides took place in the area over the last five years.

"They have asked me about the murder behind the store and the murder out here in front of the store," said Andy Valero, Payne's boss.

At this point, Payne has not been charged with murder. However, he remains in jail without bail on the child porn and aggravated sexual assault charges.

While he has current profiles on every dating site on the Internet, he also mentions being in a relationship.

Angelina Omara Shot Down Two Men, Literally!

Sauk Rapids, Minnesota

Police in Minnesota discovered two men, both dead with gunshot wounds to the head. Angelina Omara, a 38-year-old Minnesota woman is now in jail.

According to Sauk Rapids police, an investigation was launched Tuesday after residents of a local apartment complex complained about a noxious odor that permeated the building.

Police found the source of the odor, the body of James Omara, who had been the victim of an apparent gunshot to the head.

Investigators say several clues and eyewitness accounts placed his wife, Angelina Omara, at or near his apartment around the time of the murder.

A neighbor reported that Angelina Omara was at her ex-husband’s apartment on Saturday. She asked the neighbor for a butter knife in order to gain access to the residence. Omara told the neighbor that she wanted to surprise her ex-husband with breakfast and was holding a sack from Burger King.

Police found the Burger King bag inside the apartment next to James Omara's body.

Detectives followed a track to a nearby hotel, where Angelina and her new boyfriend were believed to be staying.

When investigators entered the couple’s room, they did not find Angelina Omara. Instead, they found the body of Michael Pies, also with a gunshot wound to the head.

Police say both victims were discovered dead with similar gunshots to the head - and both were found beneath a pile of pillows.

Police arrested Omara on Thursday in Sioux Falls, South Dakota after local police spotted her vehicle at a local truck stop and made the arrest. She is currently incarcerated in a South Dakota jail awaiting extradition back to Minnesota.

She faces second-degree murder charges in Benton County for the murder of her ex-husband. Charges have not yet been filed for the murder of Michael Pies.

3-Month Old Infant’s Skull and Leg Fractured: Father and Mother Charged

Carson City, Nevada

Allisha Haltom, 25, the mother of a 3-month-old infant, has been charged with felony child abuse, accused of leaving her daughter in the care of the baby's father, knowing he would harm the child.

Haltom was arrested Thursday on a warrant and held in Douglas County Jail on $36,257 bail.

At the time of her arrest, police reportedly found a balloon of heroin in her sweatshirt. Haltom allegedly admitted using heroin.

The infant suffered two skull fractures and a fractured leg allegedly at the hands of her father, 31-year old Jonathan Flagg.

Haltom and Flagg are each facing felony child abuse charges in connection with the Oct. 19 incident.

According to the criminal complaint, Haltom continually placed the baby in the care of Flagg knowing that he was physically abusing her or knowing that abuse was likely to happen.

The charge also states that Haltom was incapable of caring for or protecting the child because she was under the influence of controlled substances, resulting in the infant sustaining two skull fractures, a fractured femur, bruising and other injuries.

Haltom has a preliminary hearing set for Nov. 18.

Flagg, in Douglas County Jail on $25,000 bail, was bound over to district court following a preliminary hearing on Friday.

Perkins found that the baby's injuries — determined to be “non-accidental” by emergency room personnel — occurred while the baby was in Flagg's care, and there was probable cause that the defendant committed the offense.

Flagg is to appear in court on Nov. 15.

Prosecutor Tom Gregory said the baby is in the custody of Child Protective Services.

He submitted medical records Friday that described the injuries as “non-accidental” trauma indicating injuries to her leg and skull.

Sheriff's deputy John George testified Friday that he was sent to the couple's Gardnerville Ranchos residence on Oct. 19 on an unrelated case.

When he arrived, George said Flagg was in the driveway with a neighbor who was an off-duty firefighter/paramedic.

“I could hear the loud cry of a small child coming from within the residence,” George testified.

He said the neighbor told him Flagg had called him for help. The baby was lying on a couch inside Flagg's home and crying inconsolably.

Flagg told the deputy he placed the baby on his bed to change her diaper. He turned to clear a space and the baby rolled off the bed onto the floor.

Investigator Nadine Chrzanowski testified she first contacted Flagg that evening outside the emergency room at Carson-Tahoe Regional Medical Center where the baby had been transported by paramedics.

“He told me (the baby) rolled off the bed and hurt her leg. At that point, the extent of the injuries was unknown,” Chrzanowski said.

She said Flagg seemed agitated, emotional and upset. He was pacing back and forth and displayed random bursts of temper and calm, she said.

Chrzanowski interviewed Flagg after he was taken into custody where she said he demonstrated how he picked up the baby after she fell.

“He said he grabbed her off the ground by her leg. Her head was pointed downward and he swung her by the leg. He said her head came up and he cradled her, carrying her to the couch,” Chrzanowski said.

Deputies said Flagg appeared to be under the influence of a controlled substance at the scene.

After he gave them permission to search his residence, officers found 20 hypodermic needles, drug paraphernalia and marijuana.

Flagg reportedly told deputies he had used methamphetamine Oct. 18, the day before the incident.

And he’s no stranger to law enforcement, or child abuse for that matter. He has had eight prior contacts with law enforcement since 2000.

Flagg was sentenced in 2004 to one year in Douglas County Jail after he pleaded guilty to two gross misdemeanor counts of child abuse and neglect involving injuries inflicted on a six-month-old baby boy.

The child suffered bite marks, skull fractures and other head injuries. The baby's mother — Flagg's then-girlfriend — was sent to prison in connection with the crime.

In December 2007, Flagg was ordered to serve nine months in Douglas County Jail for punching a man in the jaw during a fight at a Stateline night club.

In December 2009, he was ordered to serve 34 months in prison for failing to repay $1,600 in bad checks and using methamphetamine in violation of his probation on the check charge.

Brian Edward Boyer Had Child Porn Videos On Cell Phone

Brian Boyer
Reading, Pennsylvania

A Ontelaunee Township parolee was charged with possession of child pornography and sexual abuse of children after a search of his cell phone revealed 17 videos.

The disturbing videos depicted children in sexual acts, many as young as 5-years-old, authorities said.

Brian Boyer, 42, had been arrested for violating his parole when detectives found the kiddie porn with his preferred age group of five to eight year old children.

Boyer, 42, of Ontelaunee Twp., Berks Co., was charged with sexual abuse of children and child pornography.

He remains behind bars in the Frackville Prison, where he's been held since his arrest on the parole violation in March.

Before his arrest, Boyer had this to say on his Myspace profile:

"I have run around most of my life. I guess I was looking for shit that can't be found, and apparently the way I had been going about it was slightly illegal. That has changed, I have changed. So if anyone remembers me get in touch."
