Oh Dear God: Hannah Steiner Accused of Raping 13-Year-Old Boy Inside a Tennessee Church

Jackson, Tennessee

I know a lot of folks often say that they can feel something inside of them while at church. Well, for Hannah Steiner, what she felt inside her was a 13-year-old boy, according to police.

The 18-year-old woman has been accused of raping a 13-year-old boy inside a church.

Investigators say he trouble began when the two began touching each other. The young boy must have felt the holy spirit or something, because he asked Steiner to stop. Once the soul of a church woman has been stirred, however, you better look out. And that’s when the boy says that Steiner forced him into submission.

Police said the alleged rape took place after a Sunday school meeting and before the worship service at the Skyline Church of Christ in Jackson, Tennessee.

The alleged rape took place in a room at the church.

After being arrested, Steiner allegedly told police that the sex was consensual. I guess she doesn’t realize the movie “Coal Miner’s Daughter” no longer counts. Oh wait, that was Kentucky, right? Nevermind!

Steiner, from Jackson, was charged with rape and two counts of statutory rape.

She was released on $5,000 bond and a preliminary hearing was set for March 7th.

Elmo Actor Kevin Clash Accused of Sexually Molesting Young Boys

New York, New York

As a man, spending the majority of your life with your hand up the underside of a doll, one who entertains children, makes it very hard to defend yourself against allegations of sexually abusing children.

But, that is exactly the position puppeteer Kevin Clash has found himself in today. Clash, the creator and voice behind children’s favorite Elmo has resigned from Sesame Workshop. This comes after two men have come forward claiming that Clash sexually molested them both when they were underage.

The first man has since recanted his allegation. However, a second potential victim has stepped forward and filed a lawsuit against Clash.

Clash, 52, who has been involved with Sesame Workshop since the 80’s, had been missing in action since the first allegations came to light.

Clash released the following statement:

“I am resigning from Sesame Workshop with a very heavy heart,” he said Tuesday in a statement.

“I have loved every day of my 28 years working for this exceptional organization,” he continued. “Personal matters have diverted attention away from the important work ‘Sesame Street’ is doing and I cannot allow it to go on any longer. I am deeply sorry to be leaving and am looking forward to resolving these personal matters privately.”

Sesame Workshop also issued a statement on Tuesday.

“None of us [at Sesame Workshop], especially Kevin, want anything to divert our attention from our focus on serving as a leading educational organization. . . . Unfortunately, the controversy surrounding Kevin’s personal life has become a distraction that none of us want, and he has concluded that he can no longer be effective in his job. . . .This is a sad day for ‘Sesame Street.’ ”

More Sexual Abuse Charges for Texas Teacher Kathryn Camille Murray

Houston, Texas

Back in February, we brought you the story of Kathryn Camille Murray, a teacher at Memorial Middle School charged with sexually molesting one of her students.

Murray, 28, became close with the 15-year-old student during private tutoring lessons (you can use your own imagination here). Detectives say the eighth-grade teacher went to the home of the 15-year-old while his parents were away on Feb. 11.The 15-year-old's 12-year-old brother was also home. According to court documents, the 12-year-old found his brother in bed with Murray.

A fellow school teacher blew the whistle on the relationship. During the investigation that followed, the 15-year-old told detectives he was in love with Murray. At the time of her February arrest, investigators learned that Murray had closed her bank accounts and had a passport ready to flee to Mexico. The judge in the case forced her to surrender the passport and wear an ankle tracking device while out on bond.

In February, Kathryn Camille Murray was facing only one charge of sexual assault. This week, prosecutors have filed three additional felony charges against Murray, two counts of sexual abuse and one count of improper relationship with a student.

According to the Houston Press, The boy told his parents that he had sex with Murray three times before the February 11 incident Murray was originally charged with. The boy's parents said their son told them he had sex with Murray twice in her classroom at Memorial Middle School, and at a hotel on February 10, "the night a dance was held for eighth grade students" at the school. On that occasion, according to the court records, the boy's father dropped him off at the school for the dance, but he met Murray at a nearby church. She drove them to a nearby Candlewood Suites hotel, where she had already paid for the room in advance -- and they had sex. She then drove him to "the vicinity of the school," and he walked about 100 meters the rest of the way, according to the records.

A Spring Branch ISD police officer has discovered hotel security footage showing the couple entering and leaving the hotel together, according to court documents.

Murray is expected back in court next week.

Police: Aaron Stackhouse Has a Fetish for 8-Year-Old Boys and Girls

Stackhouse, Police say Stackhouse sexually abused four minors, including the daughter of one of his earlier victims. Phoenix, Arizona

Yesterday, police arrested Aaron Stackhouse for sexually abusing the 8-year-old daughter of a woman he'd sexually abused when she was a child.

According to police, Stackhouse also abused the woman's two brothers that are now adults.

The most-recent victim, the 8-year-old girl, told her mother that the “family friend” Stackhouse had been sexually abusing her since October. The girl's mother, having also been abused by Stackhouse herself, finally called police.

Investigators call the abuse “sickening,” involving oral, vaginal, and anal sex with the young girl.

In one case, while under a blanket on a couch as the girl's aunt and uncle were in the room, Stackhouse had vaginal sex with the girl.

The girl's family members, police say, were not aware of the abuse of the 8-year-old.

During the course of the investigation, it was discovered that Stackhouse had abused the girl's mother and two uncles starting when they were about 8 years old. They are now each in their mid 20s.

In one instance, Stackhouse showed the children pornography and tried to get a male victim to have sex with his sister before sexually abusing him.

In a confrontation call with the girl's mother -- also a victim -- Stackhouse said he regretted abusing the children. He said he didn't know why he did it. However, he didn't want to get into detail over the phone because someone might be listening in and use the information against him.

Stackhouse faces 37 counts of sexual conduct with a minor, 4 counts of child molestation, 5 counts of furnishing harmful materials to a minor, one count of sexual abuse, one count of contributing to delinquency of minor.

He's been booked into a Maricopa County jail with no bond.

Former Colorado High School Basketball Coach Laura Redfern Playing With Plea Deal in Teen Sexual Abuse Case

Basalt, Colorado

Back in February, we featured a story on Laura Redfern, 26, a basketball coach at Basalt High School. She had recently been arrested for sexually abusing a teen boy. In fact, according to police, Redfern and the 17-year-old student were caught having sex in the teacher’s restroom at school. In addition to the incident in the restroom, investigators say the two had sex at Redfern’s house, as well as at the teen’s home.

Originally, Redfern could have faced a sentence of 4-16 years in prison. As part of a plea deal, the charges would be reduced to contributing to the delinquency of a minor and Redfern would not face jail. Additionally, she would not have to register as a sex offender.

One of the contributing factors for the plea deal was the boy’s close proximity to 18 years of age.

The plea agreement still has to be approved by the judge.

Colorado Springs, Colorado

Maybe it’s the hoopla over the Penn State scandal, or perhaps because Jesus’ birthday is coming up, but a whole lotta good Christian folks are going bat shit crazy.

In Colorado Springs, a teacher, two pastors, and a former principal were all arrested on Thursday. A grand jury has indicted 32-year-old teacher Terah Allyn Rawlings for having sexually assaulted a 15-year-old male student at Hilltop Baptist School beginning in 2007. The other three are accused of covering-up the sexual abuse.

According to the indictment, Rawlings, has been charged with eight counts in all: four counts of sexual assault on a child by one in a position of trust-pattern of abuse (a class 3 felony), four counts of sexual assault on a child by one in a position of trust (a class 4 felony), and obscenity promotion (a class 2 misdemeanor).

Investigators say the teacher allegedly had a relationship with the boy for two and a half years, beginning when he was 15. Anonymous sources have come forward claiming the school covered up the relationship until a staff member called the sheriff against the school's permission.

Hilltop Baptist School's senior pastor, 63-year-old Franklin "Wayne" Knight, aka “Pastor Wayne,” was also arrested. Knight is Rawlings's uncle.

"Pastor Wayne"
Rawlings's father, 57-year-old Raymond "Alan" Knight, the school's former athletic director and associate pastor, has been arrested as well and charge with failure to report child abuse or neglect. On the school’s Facebook page, it is reported that Alan was the 2011 Division 1A coach of the year.

Jan Ocvirk, the school's former principal, was also arrested. She faces two counts of failure to report child abuse or neglect.

Hilltop Baptist School closed in 2011 due to declining enrollment, however, Private School Review provides the school's mission statement, last updated in June 2011:

Hilltop Baptist School's belief is that each child is a unique creation of God endowed with individual gifts and abilities that, when recognized and developed, will enable that child to succeed in the way his Creator intended.
